Arturo G. García Castro
President, The Nielsen Company Latin America


Arturo G. García Castro serves as President of the Latin American division of The Nielsen Company, the world’s largest marketing information provider, a position he has held since December 2004. In this role he is responsible for overall management, business performance and strategy for Latin America operations, which include Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Central America, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
Prior to his current position, Arturo served as Country Manager, ACNielsen Brazil. Before that, he was Regional Manager, ACNielsen Mexico, where he was also responsible for developing the Central American and Puerto Rican business. Arturo joined ACNielsen in 1990 as Director, accountable for the Field Operations and Statistics departments.

Arturo came to ACNielsen from INEGI Mexico (Official General Bureau of Statistics), where he served as a National Census Director. Earlier in his career, he served as Data Processing General Manager for Productos Pesqueros Mexicanos, a public-sector company dedicated to the commercialization of marine and fishing industry products.

Arturo received a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and studied for a Master’s degree in Statistics and Operational Research from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico. He also participated in a Survey Sampling Program conducted by the University of Michigan, USA.
