Prasun Basu is President-South Asia for Nielsen. In this role he leads Nielsen’s business operations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
He has over 20 years’ client consulting experience across global markets, working extensively in the US, Brazil, Mexico, Africa, Middle-East, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand. He is an expert in Brand & Communications, Innovation & New Product Development and Customer Loyalty Management.
Prior to this Prasun was at Millward Brown as Managing Director for South Asia Region, and previously as Managing Director for Middle East, North Africa and East Africa. He has also worked with The Gallup Organization primarily in the US, India, and Thailand, heading their consulting division, and was at IMRB International as Vice President.
Prasun is returning to Nielsen, having previously led the BASES and Consumer Research businesses in South Asia, as well as heading up the BASES business in India, Africa and Middle East.
A prolific speaker and author, Prasun has been quoted in the Harvard Business Review, Time magazine, published in Philosophy of Science, and featured in the BBC Worldwide telecast. He has also presented at industry events with the likes of Martin Lindstrom, Sir Martin Sorrell, Aditya Puri, and lectured at IIM, MICA, JBIMS, ISA and FICCI-FRAMES.
Prasun holds an MBA and MS from University of Rochester, New York and M.Stat from Indian Statistical Institute.
