Irene is a senior equity analyst at RBC Capital Markets, having joined the Montreal office in late 1995. Irene has been covering the consumer area for over twenty-five years, most recently focusing on large cap, retail-oriented consumer staples and discretionary names. Irene started her career at Levesque, Beaubien, Geoffrion (now known as National Bank Financial), where she spent four years developing her skills. She then spent five years at BZW Canada, where in addition to her research responsibilities she was named Manager of the Montreal Institutional Equity Department.
Since joining RBC Capital Markets Irene has gained a reputation as “the” analyst to watch on situations in both the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors. The quality of Irene’s work has consistently ranked among the top in Canada by independent surveys of institutional investors and corporations.
Irene has been extremely active in Community Service since early in her working career. She was named to the Board of Directors of Centraide/United Way of Greater Montreal in 1990 and served as the Chairman of Centraide’s Board of Directors from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000, Irene acted as Chairman of the Board of the Centraide Foundation, and was the founding Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Greater Montreal. Irene has also served on the Centraide/United Way Campaign Cabinet for several years and in 2010 re-joined the Board of Directors of Centraide/United Way of Greater Montreal.
Irene is married and has one child aged sixteen.
