David joined Blackwell’s in the summer of 1995 as Goods-in Supervisor at Blackwell’s newly opened Nottingham Trent shop. He held various roles and in 2008 David undertook a complete business review of Blackwell’s Corporate and Professional business, before taking on the newly created role of Head of Sales for both the retail and UK library channel the following year.
David was appointed Managing Director of Blackwell’s Bookshops and Online Division in May 2011 before becoming CEO 2 years later.
David has been an active member of the Booksellers Association for the past decade. In 2005 David joined the Booksellers Association’s, Academic, Professional and Specialist Bookselling Group, and held the role firstly of Vice Chairman and then Chairman until 2010, when he was elected to join the BA Council and BA Board where he has remained as Vice President.
