As CEO of Hachette Children’s, Hilary is responsible for: Hodder Children's Books, Orchard Books, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, Franklin Watts, Wayland, Orion Children's Books, Quercus Children's Books, The Enid Blyton Estate
Hilary Murray Hill started her career in publishing in 1988 in the sales department at Hamlyn Publishing, leaving in 1992 for the start-up which became the Carlton Publishing Group. In 2000 she left adult illustrated publishing to head the marketing team at Usborne, her first role in children’s publishing. In 2005 she joined Scholastic Children’s Books as UK Sales and Marketing Director, becoming MD in 2009. In 2013 Scholastic was Bookseller Children’s Publisher of the Year. Hilary joined Egmont as MD for Books, in 2014 before moving to Hachette in early 2015 as CEO of the newly merged Children’s Book Group.
