Joanne Harris is the leader for P&G Sales in North America, which last fiscal year represented 40% of P&G’s total business. In this role, she is responsible for an organization of 1,500 employees and oversees a product portfolio of 65 brands across 10 categories. Her customer base is diverse with approximately 500 direct shipping customers making P&G products available to consumers online and through hundreds of thousands of retail stores.
A native of New York, Joanne earned a her degree in Communications/Business from Indiana University and joined P&G in 1986 as a Sales Representative for the Paper Sector in Lexington, KY. She then progressed through a series of assignments in the sector, which included a move to Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1994, Joanne took an assignment as a Category Account Executive in P&G’s Feminine Care business and was soon promoted to an associate director in Family Care. At this level, she held several successful assignments related to business development in Family and Feminine Care. In 2001, Joanne was promoted to the Sales Director for P&G’s second largest global customer, Target, and relocated to Minneapolis. In 2005, she took her expertise to Asia, serving as the Director for Market Strategy & Planning in Singapore, and then was promoted in 2008 to General Manager for the P&G Target Team, again located in Minneapolis. Since then, she has held Vice President/General Manager roles in Feminine Care, Sales, and Global Market Strategy and Planning. In 2015, Joanne took on her current role.
During her 30-year P&G career, Joanne has learned to keep the consumer and shopper at the center of all that she does at Procter & Gamble, while working to align joint strategies with P&G customers to drive mutual value. Personally, Joanne believes that trust is the foundation for all P&G does both in the business and with its people. Joanne and her husband Chuck have two children, a son Sam and a daughter Allyson, and they currently reside in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to spending time with her family, Joanne enjoys cycling, Pilates, live sporting events and traveling. Joanne participates on the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Industry Affairs Council for Procter & Gamble.
