U.S. households are more prepared for the February 2009 cut off of analog television, Nielsen reported Tuesday.
In January 2008, Nielsen's first review of all metered households showed that 10.5% of national households would have no operable television in the digital world. By July 2008 that figure had dropped to 9.3%.
Nielsen also found that, as of July, 20.9% of sample households had at least one set that would not work after the transition date -- a decrease from 23% in January.
