Smartphone – A Multimedia Center
The smartphone is slowly taking over as a multimedia device – be it music, video, camera or radio.
A few trends:
- A fifth of the time spent on smartphones is on multimedia, led by consumption of locally stored content.
- Users of Android devices spend a much larger share of time on streaming video content.
- Engagement on Multimedia activities peaks early afternoon and closer to midnight, in contrast to Social Networking where the usage steadily rises through the day.
