ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE 

 

This is a Leadership role as part of the International Marcoms team and will be based in Rotterdam, Netherlands or London UK  post-COVID at least 1 day a week.

You must have authorisation/ be eligible to work in Netherlands or UK.
The International Marcoms team protects and builds the reputation of Nielsen’s brand and supports the highest value revenue opportunities. We do this by clear and creative marketing and communications campaigns that engage and educate our associates and external audiences. We generate commercial leads, help tell smart stories and create demand for our products and services.

Nielsen is passionate about helping clients better identify their consumers, maximise media plans and optimize performance.  As the Europe/Americas Outcomes Marcoms you will help advertisers, agencies, publishers and sports bodies grow. You will be responsible for strategising and executing a marketing and communications Outcomes roadmap each year, including product launches and expansions, content to be published and Nielsen owned and industry events/webinars. You will nurture our existing clients with regular engagements and create new opportunities to showcase our global footprint in countries. 

You must promote and protect Nielsen’s brand and support the Product and Commercial teams to leverage growth opportunities. The successful candidate will have a passion for strategising revenue growth through a range of marketing and communications tactics. 

As a global business, the successful candidate must be a team player that proactively contributes to global marcoms responses and plans. As the representative within our International business you will also be responsible for ensuring your counterparts in APAC and Latin America/Canada have the global information required so that they can implement their own strategies for their regions. You will liaise with local counterparts to support you with translation and distribution needs.

 

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

 

Drive marketing strategies for the Audience Outcomes portfolio including Planning, Media Analytics, Outcomes and Sports solutions
Crisis management – Be the go-to stakeholder for what to do when a Outcomes crisis arises through creating and approving Nielsen’s Outcomes international responses. This will require working closely with Product and Commercial teams to minimise negative press coverage and revenue impact.
Content writing: creating regular editorial content (insights articles, press releases, reports, perspectives), product notices and designing email campaigns.  
Leadership when launching products or enhancement: As the coordinator you will be responsible for highly successful and memorable client-centric announcement and product materials. 
Sales enablement: A key stakeholder for strategising major RFP responses and defining revenue marketing strategies. 
Team player: active participation with the U.S. Marcoms team to ensure International Outcomes messaging and strategies are cohesive 
Work with Product Management to understand product priorities and roadmap milestones and bring together cross-functional teams across the Marcom Centers of Excellence including Communications, Growth Marketing and Partnerships & Events to develop integrated marketing plans that directly support commercial priorities that deliver incremental revenue with existing clients and engage new clients
Partner with Commercial and Product leadership teams to translate business strategies into marketing and communications strategies that help the business meet its revenue targets
Measure the impact of our efforts
Document steps and processes for maximum efficiency
Be creative and strive to always think differently

 

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

 

Your remit will be to to look after the EU/USA region and make key decisions, it’s vital show that you can understand nuances of these different markets and apply bespoke Marcoms  solutions.You’ll be involved in building a product portfolio industry events, media planning and analytics and sports marketing that is advertiser/publisher targeted .

You will have a solid background in Marcoms and your marketing skills will  to lift, shape, pronounce and resonate the Nielsen brand in the marketplace.

This position reports directly into the European Marcoms leader and has a dotted line into the Global Outcomes Marcoms team. 

You’ll have a a roll up your sleeves and get it done attitude – it is not enough to have great ideas, you must be able to get stuff done 
Playing well with others is a must. We are a colloborative team and you’ll be able to cultivate relationships inside and outside the organization
You’ll work independently on a small team with a tremendous amount of responsibility
You’ll be able  able to work in a dynamic environment where new projects and pop-up often

A minimum of 10+ years experience in B2B Marketing, Media, and/or Sales
Confident communicator with exceptional attention to detail, along with the proven ability to consistently make sound judgments and an ability to address business and technical audiences
Experience leading multi-practice teams toward a common deliverable on frequently accelerated timeframes 
Strong collaborator and mentor with the ability to bring out the best in talent and effectively motivate and manage teams
Excellent organisation, project management and problem solving skills
Amazing writing and PowerPoint/Slides skills and be able to tell a cohesive story through a narrative or a deck
Must be intellectually curious and collaborative, “humble, hungry and smart” with a strong work ethic
Relationship building skills with the ability to interface with senior executives and experts across the organisation

Ideally you will a fluent Dutch/English speaker though Dutch is not essential..
