Job Description

As a Senior HR Generalist you will act as an independent source and support to local associates and managers in all HR related matters. Moreover, you will provide technical leadership, advice and recommendations within the Human resources area in line with the business strategy. Vitally important to this role is to have up to date knowledge on local labour and workforce related subjects and able to communicate and execute on Nielsen’s Global HR strategy


  • Coordinating recruitment and selection process together with Nielsen’s Recruitment Center (approvals of positions, opening it in SAP, interviewing on local level, provide feedback regarding the candidates)
  • Ownership over process of starting employment, adjusting and terminating employment for Nielsen Greece team with support of the Jr. Executive
  • Manage personal/position changes in SAP together with the Nielsen Administration team
  • Support Nielsen employee processes (position/salary changes, promotions) on internal platforms
  • Support internal transfers that take place within the organization (analysing what are the needs for each position and the profile of a person who can take the job)
  • Creating, developing and proactively supporting project based work (career paths, company’s recruitment processes, employee engagement and employer branding activities)
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR processes, systems and procedures
  • Support payroll process, preparation of budget files and administration of benefits programs
  • Provide information, advice and services to one or more business units/departments relating to one or more HR processes (discussion of career development issues with line managers, investigation and resolution of day-to-day employee relations problems in coordination with line managers, conduct routine salary administration, etc)
  • Able to explain, guide and advise managers about Nielsen’s internal processes on Career Development, Engagement (MyVoice), Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment, Reward & Recognition, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers on the interpretation of policies and guidelines
  • Partner and Negotiate with local Trade Union when needed
  • Provide coaching and support to management in Greece to assist them work with their employees to achieve their performance standards
  • Be familiar with changes in the law and/or the external environment affecting the HR area of specialization

  • Strong academic background a BSc/Msc in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management or other related course
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist / HR Admin role
  • Fluent in English & Greek, both written and verbal is a must
  • Very Good Knowledge of Greek labour law
  • Multinational experience would be preferable
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Experience with SAP HR would be an important advantage
