Summary of role: 

 

This is a role which sit at a very critical point within the Nielsen Total Audience Measurement and Cross Media solutions, where we construct the solutions driving our deep wider media landscape data collection, reporting and analysis. This team operate globally supporting Nielsen entities across the world, and consist of highly skilled and experienced team of subject matter experts, some of whom been doing their job for a long time, meaning substantial maturity/experiences.
Taking a hands-on approach to coordinating, supporting and working directly with multiple teams in multiple regions starting from the project’s planning and execution until post-launch support and covering development, testing and user acceptance
 

Role Overview

The iMedia Software Architecture team of Nielsen has teams operating in Lugano, and Australia is where we work on the application architecture for our across 30+ countries Total Audience Measurement solutions, – meaning where we measure and report on the TV/radio and media streaming viewing/listening prefences of entire populations. 
Software Architecture execute on the specific needs the country teams have, whether being small fixes, through to  larger legacy application devlopments and updates.   
Software Architecture is due to the nature of applications we become involved with about problem solving, being creative and in collaboration with colleagues across software architecture and development execution ensure that we successfully reach the objectives set for being able to execute across the multitude of solutions we apply in our markets. As such this is a Software Architecture role like few others, – diverse, – challenging, demanding and exciting. 
Our tech stack is under constant development, – why this role also require a certain level of ability to adapt, – learn new skills and to grow as our product and solution offerings evolve. 

 

Daily duties 

 

  • Collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
  • Using tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
  • Developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers
  • Support development team with low level design 

 
The ideal profile for this role will posess these elements: 

 

  • Proven experience as  “software architect”
  • Experience in software development and coding in various languages, focus on: C#, .NET, C++; Java is a plus
  • Knowledge of UML and other modeling methods
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail

 

In addition it will be a plus if also having:

 

Background and experences with:
Cloud architecture, focus on AWS
Statistical background
Big Data
