Product Manager

 

Nielsen Global Media is looking for a Product Manager within its Advanced TV space. The individual in this role will be a subject matter expert within their area of responsibility, taking ownership of end to end feature and project executions across external and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities will include ownership of the relevant portions of the backlog, agile team execution, and close work alongside client, Technology, Data Science, Operations, Commercial, and other teams to drive impact to the business. 

 

Responsibilities

 

End to end management of features and projects

  • Generate requirements, ensuring that all feature and/or project participants are aligned on what is expected;

  • Own and continuously update project plans to reflect the most current project status; share relevant updates to a variety of stakeholders at various levels of seniority within the company; communicate meaningful shifts in timelines and priorities;

  • Facilitate client meetings, ensuring the relevant stakeholder attendance from both sides; drive meaningful agenda and assist with roadblock resolution;

  • Drive outcomes by taking ownership of project’s successes and failures and inspiring various teams to action.

 

Product subject matter expertise

  • Grow subject matter expertise within one’s area of responsibility; strive to understand the product from ingestion to reporting and become the go-to person for a varied group of stakeholders with different needs and backgrounds;

  • Triage incoming product-related questions and serve as a first point of contact in case of internal and external escalations; participate in issue resolution as needed

  • Drive issue resolution and communicate relevant updates internally and externally; draft and send out internal and external issue product notifications

 

Scrum team execution

  • Schedule and facilitate agile ceremonies (grooming, planning, demos, etc.)

  • Author stories, drive acceptance criteria and accept stories

  • Participate in feature validation and testing, as needed

  • Manage releases, including planning, scheduling, and coordination with appropriate groups (Dsci, adjacent back-end or UI teams, Product Marketing, Operations, etc)

 

Requirements

 

Skills

        

  • 1-5 years of experience in product management or technical product management role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Prior experience in agile team management

  • Willingness to learn and proactively seek information

  • Hands-on working style

  • Prior experience with SQL and data analysis

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamically changing environment

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and G Suite

  • Prior experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow preferred
