About the job

Customized Intelligence Research Manager is a skilled market researcher, specializing in Qualitative research methodology, that will be responsible for executing and developing the Qualitative business research unit within NielsenIQ, for local and international clients.  Working within a growing team, this role will support the Associate Director, coach and mentor the Research Executive, and enhance NielsenIQ’s reputation as a leading global Customized Intelligence business.  Further, this individual will be required to work across East and West Africa Qualitative teams where needed.  Additionally, the incumbent will develop a sales pipeline to build and maintain client revenue.



  • Support the Qualitative Associate Director

  • Training and development of Qualitative Research Executive

  • Grow Qualitative revenue

  • New business development

  • Achievement of revenue targets

  • Manage client portfolio

  • Contribute to the achievement of revenue targets

  • Own and manage the Qualitative research process, end to end

  • Support and contribute to the Qualitative business in in East and West Africa

  • Consultation and assistance to adjacent internal teams,) where qualitative research is a part of the brief, or could enhance the brief

  • Full end-to-end Qualitative research process, including cost and budget management, project management, fieldwork, analysis and presentation of findings to top-tier clients

  • Established, proven experience in the full end-to-end qualitative research process (examples of previous work including discussion guides, analysis grids, and reports [masked] may be requested

  • Previous experience in project management

  • Previous experience in managing study costs and budgeting

  • New business development experience is advantageous

  • Excellent PowerPoint ability and proficient in Word and Excel

  • A visual storytelling style is advantageous

  • Proven experience in working in FMCG (min 5 years)

  • Experience in working in studies across Africa (desired)
