We are presently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer


In this role, you will be responsible for:


Participate in the adoption and development of industry best-practices on information technology development operations activities, including automated deployment, incident management, monitoring and alerting, Cloud security, continuous integration, backups and resiliency. Participate in ensuring solution availability, performance, and stability at scale of all DevOps owned resources. Test, configure, optimize and scale the DevOps-supported technologies, databases and servers. Monitor costs of the assigned production and test infrastructure, which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Communicate with engineering teams to determine key issues and challenges that need to be improved on, and determine effective solutions while reducing technology debt. Participate in developing reference architectures to support upcoming projects. Support the build of, and maintain, the shared DevOps infrastructure and tools. Manage disaster recovery and create plans for smoother future recoveries on the assigned projects. Identify recurring problems and oversee the build of tools and processes to help solve such problems. Identify currently running EC2 workloads, and refactor and deploy into Kubernetes environments. Maintain and operate existing infrastructure monitoring solutions), and build out server-less monitoring solutions (including Cloud-based such as AWS Lambda). Train, coach and support (without supervisory authority) 1-2 DevOps Engineers in adopting DevOps best practices and tools. Tools and technologies used include: AWS services, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Graphana, Prometheus, and Cassandra. 




Minimum Requirements:


Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with an information technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in software development and/or dev-ops engineering (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience). This must include: 3 years of experience in/with: AWS services, including VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, ES and ELB; at least one scripting language, such as Python and/or Ruby; Jenkins CI/CD automation; and configuration management toolset, such as Chef. 2 years of experience in/with:  Linux and/or Ubuntu; TCP/IP and SSL/TLS networking and routing; and container technology Docker, including creating and deploying Docker images.
