Software Engineer, Music Data – 80101

Gracenote, a Nielsen Media Company is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Music Platform organization.

 

The Music Platform team is responsible for powering a wide variety of music products that help hundreds of millions of music fans identify, discover, and connect with the songs and artists they love. Gracenote's music metadata is the most comprehensive available today, and it is used in consumer products around the world, from streaming services to car stereo head units.

 

As a Data Engineer on the Music Platform team, you will be responsible for contributing to the new system of record for music at Gracenote. This role requires strong database design and data modeling skills, and candidates should be comfortable writing and tuning queries that will run on large datasets in a variety of environments (relational databases and others). Candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines for tasks related to ETL, linking, clustering, and classification. Additionally, candidates will create APIs, services, and export processes to provide access to data for other internal teams.
 
Requirements

  • 1-3 years of programming with at least one or more language like Go, Python, or Java
  • Strong SQL and database design knowledge
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Experience with DevOps practices and technologies
  • Musical background and/or experience in the music industry is a big plus
