Chief Executive Officer, Nielsen Global Connect
David Rawlinson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nielsen Global Connect in February 2020.
Rawlinson is an accomplished executive with deep leadership experience on a global scale. He has a proven record of building strong cultures, delivering growth, leading digital transformations, and understanding the e-commerce and omnichannel landscape.
He has served on Nielsen’s Board since 2017.
Most recently, he was President of the Global Online Business at W.W. Grainger, Inc.; Grainger is a leading supplier of business-to-business supplies with annual revenues of more than $10B. He previously served as Vice President of Operations for the Online Business, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He also served on the Board of MonotaRO Co., Ltd., a top Japanese e-commerce and industrial retail firm, from 2014-2020.
Prior to Grainger, Rawlinson held executive roles with ITT Exelis, formerly ITT Corp. He also served a Presidential appointment as a White House Fellow and held various appointed positions in both the Bush and Obama administrations. In the Obama Administration, he was a Senior Advisor for Economic Policy with the White House National Economic Council.
Rawlinson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel, a Juris Doctor in Law from the University of South Carolina and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
