Primetime Broadcast Ratings August 22, 2008
NBC’s broadcast of the 2008 Beijing Olympics again claimed the top slot in Nielsen’s ranking of primetime telecasts for Friday, August 22, 2008.
CBS’s “NFL Pre-Season Special” and FOX’s “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” rounded out the top three.

Overall, NBC won the night with an average audience of almost 17.9 million viewers, while CBS took second place with just over 4.8 million average viewers. FOX and ABC claimed third and fourth places — with 3.9 million and 3.8 million average viewers, respectively. The CW and Univision followed in fifth place and sixth places, drawing average audiences of approximately 3.6 million viewers each.
