Senior Software Developer

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

Gather, analyze and convert business requirements into technical requirements to build data warehousing solutions. Design, build and test data warehousing applications for new and existing backend systems. Design and build multi-tenant systems capable of loading and transforming a large volume of structured and semi-structured fast-moving data. Build platform reusable code and components that can be used by multiple project teams. Develop and provide RESTful web services to integrate with other systems and platforms. Maintain and document standards, best practices and design/architecture patterns. Deliver proven best practices for resiliency, scalability, optimization and security that utilize on-premise, as well as Cloud, assets and technologies. Assist business units in performance optimization, troubleshooting and problem resolution. Directly supervise 1-3 internal developers, and indirectly oversee (without supervisory authority) up to approximately 25 offshore, external developers, including guiding and supporting them in managing existing and developing new warehouse applications. Involves domestic travel, 2x/year for up to 3 days/trip. Tools used include: Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, ERWin, PowerDesigner, PL/SQL, Informatica, RESTful Web Services, SVN, Bitbucket, Cognos, Microstrategy and Tableau.

 

FOR THIS ROLE, WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE:

 

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with an information technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in software design and development (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience). This must include 1 year of experience with: use of master data management principles; use of software design and testing principles; analysis of product reference data such as common error patterns; development of data warehousing applications on databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and/or Sybase; building data models using tools such as ERWin and/or PowerDesigner; development of data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) procedures using tools such as PL/SQL and/or Informatica; Web Services; software development tools for version control and continuous integration using tools such as SVN and/or Bitbucket; development of complex queries to build reports, using reporting and analytical tools such as Cognos, Microstrategy and/or Tableau; use of analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex design and coding problems; and working as a member of a team. Requires domestic travel, 2x/year for up to 3 days/trip.
