Last week, CEO Mitch Barns was named to Adweek’s “2017 Power List: Our Top 100 Leaders in Media, Marketing and Tech,” ranking at No. 69. The list recognizes global corporate titans, taking into account criteria such as company value, revenue and growth, market performance, consumer reach, their standing among rivals, industry accolades and media buzz.
Mitch has served as CEO of Nielsen since January 2014, and this his first appearance on the Power100. The listing honors Mitch’s efforts to position Nielsen as a provider of actionable information and analysis for marketers, agencies and media outlets, as well as his commitment to total audience and content measurement—spanning video consumption across all platforms and devices—which Adweek notes “could ultimately establish a new currency for media buying and revolutionize the industry.”
Mitch was selected alongside leaders across a range of disciplines, including agency and media chieftains, leaders of tech giants and CEOs of brand marketers.
