The web application offers deep, valuable consumer insights for mobile game developers

New York, NY – May 3 – Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) today announced the launch of Mobile Game Tracking (MGT), a new online measurement platform that gives users an unprecedented level of data and insight into the performance and consumer sentiment of mobile game titles. MGT surveys a unique group of 1,200 mobile gamers each week to create a 360-degree view of consumer audiences.

Nielsen MGT allows developers to understand market appeal and competitive dynamics of mobile games, segmented by gameplay behavior, demographics and other key characteristics, as well as to determine if marketing plans are resonating with consumer audiences over time. MGT users can also monitor how consumers become aware of specific titles and whether a game drives recommendations from existing players, both of which can help determine more efficient methods of monetizing games.

“In a rapidly changing mobile games market consumer behavior can often seem elusive and difficult to predict,” said Michael Flamberg, Vice President and General Manager of Games, Nielsen. “Nielsen Mobile Game Tracking allows developers to efficiently measure a mobile title’s potential, recognize strengths and weaknesses within the market and to track their improvement over time. It’s an invaluable tool.”
