Year-End Survey Signals Cautious Optimism
Consumer confidence held steady in Canada in the last months of 2014, and was up for the year overall, reaching an index of 102. Optimism about job prospects was higher than in 2013, and Canadians also feel positive about their pocketbooks – but even though consumers are faced with an array of spending incentives, it might be a while before Canadians are ready to reach for their wallets and spend more on consumer packaged goods.
