Jakarta, 11 July 2018 – On Thursday, July 5, 2018, Nielsen Indonesia collaborated with the Budaya Berbagi community carried out the Nielsen Global Impact Day (NGID) activity to share happiness with the elderly residents of Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 2 Cengkareng nursing home. NGID is one of Nielsen’s worldwide CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives, whereby all Nielsen employees around the world perform voluntarily activities and to donate time, effort and skills as Nielsen associates, to the community and environment.
Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 2 nursing home accommodates more than 300 elderly citizens in Jakarta who are abandoned, brought from the streets of Jakarta. They either have no families, or have never met their families for years.
NGID 2018 attended by more than 100 Nielsen volunteers in Jakarta succeeded in bringing the joy and warmth of the family to around 300 elderly residents of the Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 2 Cengkareng nursing home. Various exciting game activities were performed by volunteers together with the residents, such as Gesture Guess, Songs Guess, Balloon Dance and Karaoke session.
“NGID is not only a routine Nielsen social activity, but more than that, we want to be part of the community around us, utilizing our capabilities to help create a more positive society and environment,” said Agus Nurudin, Managing Director of Nielsen Indonesia.
Besides playing games, in this event supported by Salonpas and Frisian Flag milk, Nielsen employees also perform community service around the nursing home area, take care and share stories, deliver parcels and have lunch together with the elderly residents.
“We are very pleased to be able to collaborate with Nielsen in today’s event with the elderly. With this activity, we as young people also hope to motivate and encourage others in Indonesia that sharing is fun. Sharing is easy and can be performed in various ways,” said Sarezki, Chairman of Budaya Berbagi Community.
In addition to Jakarta, NGID activities were also performed by other Nielsen volunteers in several regions of Indonesia, i.e. Medan, Bandar Lampung, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Batam, Malang, Semarang, Solo, Sukabumi, Surabaya, Palu, Manado, Mataram, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Kupang, and Maluku. The Nielsen volunteers not only donate to the needy people but also work together to clean up the environment and sow the seeds of various plantations to support greening program around the area.
