Tina Wilson, EVP & Global Head of Audience Outcomes Product at Nielsen, was honored as a recipient of the Magnanimous Mentor award at the 2022 Top Women in Media and Ad Tech Awards Gala on June 6. The awards, co-sponsored by AdExchanger and AdMonsters, recognize, celebrate, inspire, and bring together the women who are making an impact in the greater digital media and advertising technology community. The Magnanimous Mentor category honors the women who have made an extraordinary effort and impact on the careers of their colleagues.
Wilson, a marketing industry veteran who has spent the past 25 years at Nielsen, has been a mentor to her peers for nearly 30 years. Within Nielsen, Wilson guides media industry professionals and prides herself on being an accessible executive to the 1,000 people she manages. Wilson’s mentees benefit from learning from her career experiences, and she has become a “leader of the people,” with mentee relationships spanning across levels and functions within the company.
Wilson is an advocate for hiring diverse talent and for media execs guiding newcomers and welcoming them into the ever-changing media industry. Wilson’s work with N-GEN, a cross-generational group and NATIV, Native American, Tribal, Indigenous Voices group at Nielsen, allows her to provide mentorship for those in the industry who are looking to increase their advocacy within the industry.
Outside of Nielsen, Wilson has served as a mentor to entrepreneurs, professionals participating in the Effie marketing effectiveness certification program, and a guest lecturer at colleges and universities focused on sharing relatable storytelling to media and marketing students. She is also passionate about helping high school students become aware of the career opportunities they can find in the media and marketing industries, and helping them gain experience.
