Renewal agreement includes audience measurement solutions for three local TV stations across Raleigh and Wilmington in North Carolina

NEW YORK February 27, 2023 – Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement, data and analytics, announced a multi-year renewal agreement with Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc., a multimedia communications company based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

As part of the deal, Capitol Broadcasting will continue to utilize a suite of Nielsen solutions for three of its local TV stations—WRAL and WRAZ in Raleigh, NC, and WILM in Wilmington, NC—including Nielsen Local TV View (NLTV), which provides audience measurement metrics to local TV stations across measured markets, and Nielsen Scarborough, which provides survey-based insights that connect the dots between media consumption and buying behavior at a local and national level.

“Given Raleigh has an above average penetration of BBO homes, it’s important for us to have a partner that can properly measure this part of the sample,” said Joel Davis, Vice President and General Manager at WRAL-TV and FOX 50 WRAZ-TV. “We know many of these homes still watch local news and programming.”

“We are thrilled to continue to serve Capitol Broadcasting as their audience insights provider,” said Catherine Herkovic, EVP, Managing Director, Audio and Local TV at Nielsen. “We look forward to delivering data that showcases the value of Capitol Broadcasting to advertisers, and ultimately contributes to their ongoing success.”
