Nielsen Global Impact Day 2015: Why Nielsen Cares

Being a responsible corporate citizen is woven into Nielsen’s DNA. Our global teams work together to have an uncommon impact in the marketplaces and communities where we live and serve.

Our global corporate social responsibility program is dedicated to making an uncommon impact in the communities where we live and work. Through Nielsen Cares, our associates mobilize Nielsen’s data and expertise for good, creating shared value in our communities and helping to solve some of the world’s biggest social challenges.

Amongst the several initiatives, there is one day dedicated annually for the entire global Nielsen workforce to make a true impact. That’s Nielsen Global Impact Day. It’s a full working day on which employees around the world make an organized contribution to the communities that they work and live in.

In 2015, Nielsen Egypt focused their efforts on medical care. In collaboration with Resala, Nielsen Egypt team helped in the classification of a 120 bags of medical to help the NGO in distribution to the needy people. It had a direct impact on approximately 7,500 lives.

Donations raised through several fundraising initiatives went to renovating the heart disease section in a governmental hospital set up to serve the financial challenged. The funds raised also caused to change the lives of three deaf children by providing them with hearing equipment.

Last year, Nielsen Egypt held an in-house blood donation drive as well as dedicated the Nielsen Global Impact Day to renovating a school in Al Waraa’. In 2013 we joined hands with the Food Bank for sorting, packing and storing of resources.

Over the last there NGID’s, Nielsen Egypt has effectively impacted 26,750 lives.
