The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas brings together the brightest minds in TV and radio to discuss hot and trending topics affecting the industry and showcase new innovations that help drive the business forward.
At this year’s NAB show, Nielsen Gracenote highlighted two innovative offerings: Gracenote Radio Station ID and Nielsen Grabix. The first helps connected car drivers easily discover new things to listen to on the radio, while the latter combines Nielsen ratings and Gracenote Smart TV viewing data to provide local broadcasters deeper insights into audience flow, retention and engagement. In addition to spotlighting these new innovations, we’re thrilled to announce that NAB’s official publications, TV Technology and Radio World, recognized both of these products with “Best of Show” awards.
Leveraging Gracenote’s core media recognition technology and entertainment database, both Gracenote Radio Station ID and Nielsen Grabix are transforming how broadcast content is discovered and monetized. Gracenote Radio Station ID focuses on making it easier for drivers and passengers in connected cars to find the music, news and talk programming they love through data-driven guides, imagery and geo-location.
By contrast, Nielsen Grabix is a next-generation analytics platform for broadcasters that integrates Gracenote Video Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) technology to help local news teams, advertisers and programmers gain deeper insights into audience behavior, trending topics and tune-in and tune-out of programming across millions of smart TVs.
Being recognized during the broadcast industry’s most prominent gathering of visionaries and leaders is further proof that Nielsen and Gracenote’s combined capabilities have the power to enable real innovation across all broadcast segments.
