NEW YORK, NY – March 3, 2011 – The Nielsen Company (NYSE: NLSN), a global leader in providing insights into what consumers watch and buy, today announced that it has appointed Mary Liz Finn Chief Human Resources Officer. Finn’s appointment is effective immediately and was made by David Calhoun, Nielsen’s Chief Executive Officer. As Nielsen’s senior human resources executive, Finn will report to Calhoun and be a member of the company’s Executive Council.
In this role, Finn will lead Nielsen’s global HR organization which drives the company’s human capital strategy, leadership development programs and compensation and benefits. “I am pleased to have Mary Liz lead Nielsen’s human resources organization,” Calhoun said. “She is a strong advocate of a global performance-based culture and leadership development and I look forward to her stewardship of these efforts so crucial to our Company’s success.”
Finn joined Nielsen’s Human Resources organization in 2007, heading the Company’s Global Leadership Development function and programs. Most recently, Finn served as the Human Resources leader for Nielsen’s North American “Buy” segment. Prior to joining Nielsen, Finn worked at General Electric (GE) where she held various senior HR leadership positions. In this role, Finn succeeds Bob Llamas, who recently joined Univision as Chief Human Resources Officer.
Finn is a graduate of Siena College, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance.
