Srini Varadarajan

Chief Technology Officer

Srini is the Chief Technology Officer for Nielsen Technology and also plays the role of Chief Architect for Nielsen. Originally from India, Srini has a Computer Science degree from Madras University and a Master’s degree in Management and System specializing in Strategy and Leadership from New York University. He was the valedictorian of his class and received a special award for his applied project that brought about the transformation to the product development process at Thomson Reuters.

Prior to joining Nielsen in 2016, Srini led major Big Data and Platform efforts at Thomson Reuters (as Head of Content Technology) and Goldman Sachs (as Head of Data Architecture). He has deep knowledge of big data and cloud computing technologies. Apart from architecture and software development, Srini has extensive experience in transforming technology organizations. A big proponent of agile and lean, Srini espouses the principles of a startup mentality in a large organization. His thesis at NYU, as part of the Master’s program, was focused on implementing agile development at large organizations.

He is a passionate cook and takes over the kitchen on weekends. He is also passionate about the Earth and its flora and fauna. An outdoorsman, he hikes in summer and skis in winter. He was a track athlete at his university and holds the record for the 800 meters.
