On the heels of the release of our 360-degree report on the Black consumers, “Power. Growth. Influence. The African-American Consumer Report,” Nielsen sponsored the New York Black Thought Leadership Summit, led by African-American Advisory Council Co-Chair, Rev. Jacques DeGraff. The event was attended by more than 50 of New York’s most respected leaders, who discussed issues critical to the city’s Black community. The leaders—from business, academia, government, civic and nonprofit sectors—determined that business development and financial literacy are the most prevalent issues they could work on collectively to bring measurable improvement to the city’s Black community.
The all-day session included opening remarks by CEO Mitch Barns and ended with a reception attended by former New York mayor David Dinkins, and other dignitaries.
