New York – Nov. 19, 2014 – Nielsen, a global information and performance measurement company, proudly announced that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Nielsen joins the ranks of 364 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

“This is a very important recognition for Nielsen, made possible by the hard work of our Diversity & Inclusion team, our LGBT employee resource group, recent changes to our U.S. benefits policies and our research note, The State of the LGBT Consumer,” said D. Sangeeta, Chief Diversity Officer.

Angela Talton, SVP, Diversity and Inclusion added, “We wouldn’t be where we are today without the strong commitment to diversity displayed at all levels of the organization. Nielsen is fostering an environment where diverse perspectives and experiences thrive—it’s part of our DNA.”

The 2015 CEI rated 972 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Nielsen’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
