2021 Interim Responsibility Report

The Nielsen Global Responsibility Report covers the issues that are critical to Nielsen’s business and operations in more than 50 countries around the world. The report provides clients, employees and investors with a comprehensive look at Nielsen’s strategic direction, priorities and forward-looking goals. Though we typically report biennially, we released a 2021 Interim Responsibility Update to provide our stakeholders with a snapshot of our journey through this unprecedented year. 

DJSI Member

Nielsen is as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) North America Index. Launched in 1999, the DJSI were the first global indexes tracking the financial performance of leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

FTSE Russell (the trading name of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) confirms that Nielsen Holdings has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.


In an annual ranking by Forbes and JUST Capital, Nielsen has been named one of America’s Most JUST Companies, as well as the leader among Media companies, for two consecutive years.

Supply chain sustainability

Our Global Procurement organization extends Nielsen’s commitment to good corporate citizenship and sustainability to our supply chain, managing the ESG impacts of our purchasing.
